Alexandra Cup
Presented 1907
By Lieutenant Governor of B.C., the Honourable James Dunsmuir
Originally presented for "annual competition between racing yachts representing the Dominion of Canada and the U.S.A." for yachts of the "29 Ft" Class.
In 1909, while racing 'R Class' yachts, the series was contentiously called off after the first race, as the new American contender "Spirit II" exceeded the required measurement.
The trophy would not be contested again for 99 years.
More recently, competition has been in the 6 Metre Class
